A series of Carabidae with the appearance of Orthomus Chaudoir, 1838, collected in the Mesovoid Shallow Substratum (MSS) of the Sierra de Gádor (Almería, Spain) were studied. The comparative study of the male genitalia and other anatomical features confirms that they are a new species and new genus. Both taxa are described and placed within the phyletic line of the Euchroina, close to Orthomus, but combining typical characters of several genera. The dorsal pilosity of the tarsi is shared with some Macaronesian (Eutrichopus Tschitschérine, 1897; Wolltinerfia Machado, 1985; Gietopus Machado, 1992) and North African (Trichopedius Bedel, 1899) genera. The regular presence of three discal setigerous punctures (even four) next to the 3rd interestria, is a characteristic shared with the Yemen monospecific genus Parorthomus Guéorguiev, Wrase & Farkač, 2014. The presence of a well-developed scutellar striola is also shared with Parorthomus, and with Orthomus, Nesorthomus Bedel, 1899 and Abacillodes Straneo, 1988 (somewhat shorter in Abacillius Straneo, 1949), but is distinguished from the Euchroina of this part of the Old World, with the exception of Orthomus tazekensis tazekensis (Antoine, 1941), by the absence of a setigerous scutellar puncture. The combination of these characters makes does not allow to place the new species within the known genera.
