Abstract

The egg ultra-structure in five species of Hemerobiidae belonging to the subfamilies Drepanepteryginae: Gayomyia falcata (Blanchard in Gay, 1851), Hemerobiinae: Hemerobius bolivari Banks, 1910 and Hemerobius chilensis Nakahara, 1965, and Sympherobiinae: Sympherobius gayi Navás, 1910 and Nomerobius cuspidatus Oswald, 1990 is described and compared, giving new data on this poorly known aspect in this family. The existence of diagnostical and differential characters in the egg of these taxa and their interest in the general systematics of the family is shown.
