Abstract


Asurvey of the digger wasp fauna of La Palma (Canary Islands) is made. Eleven species are confirmed as present and five of them –Liris nigricans nigricans (Walker, 1871), Miscophus eatoni E. Saunders, 1903, Tachysphex nitidus (Spinola, 1806), Solierella insidiosa de Beaumont, 1964, and Nitela laevigata sp. n.– are recorded for the first time for the fauna of La Palma. A brief evaluation of the digger wasp species richness of La Palma is provided.
