Diversidad de dípteros acuáticos en la cuenca del río Martil (noroeste de Marruecos)

Se proporcionan nuevos datos faunísticos sobre dípteros acuáticos de la cuenca del río Martil, recolectados en veinte estaciones de muestreo visitadas de manera estacional entre el otoño de 2015 y la primavera de 2018, incrementando el conocimiento actual sobre estos insectos en el noroeste de Marruecos. Se capturaron 9904 individuos pertenecientes a 17 familias y 29 géneros, y se identificaron a nivel de especie ejemplares de cuatro familias: Chironominae (22 especies), Dixidae (una especie), Simuliidae (9 especies) y Tabanidae (7 especies). Los datos faunísticos más relevantes corresponden a los registros de Probezzia Kieffer, Chironomus barbarensis y Glyptotendipes barbatipes, que representan primeras citas para el norte de África, así como las citas de Cricotopus fuscus y Chironomus dorsalis, que son nuevos registros para Marruecos. Se cita por primera vez a doce especies en la cuenca del Martil, y se aportan nuevos registros para el norte de Marruecos para cuatro géneros y dos especies. En nuestros muestreos, Chironomidae fue la familia más diversa, mientras que Simuliidae fue la más abundante. Biogeográficamente, los dípteros de la cuenca de Martil se caracterizan por un claro predominio de elementos paleárticos de amplia distribución. En general, la fauna de dípteros acuáticos en Marruecos sigue siendo poco conocida, debido a las dificultades para identificar las larvas a nivel de especie, lo que pone de relieve la necesidad de que los investigadores dispongan de técnicas y métodos modernos de identificación para completar el conocimiento de los dípteros de agua dulce en Marruecos y otros países en desarrollo.
